Before you drive off, make sure you won't get ripped off

If you accept a ride from a fraudulent driver you will get ripped off and scammed. Go to the official pick up areas for authorized vehicles such as yellow cabs, Ubers or Lyfts.

Taxi fares between LGA Airport and other NYC area destinations

Taxi fare estimates below do not include tips, tolls, or Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) congestion pricing.

Fees:

  • Taxi trips from LaGuardia receive a $1.00 peak time surcharge for trips on weekdays from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET. 
  • There is also a $0.50 surcharge for trips daily from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. ET, and an additional NY State tax of $0.50 for trips within New York.
  • A $2.00 PANYNJ Airport access-fee also applies for pickups only.

Note: Meter must read $3.00 at the start of the trip. Fares are based on distance and time. Additional charges may apply (tolls, surcharges, peak-hour fees).

Taxi safety tips

Use only taxis from the official airport taxi stand. Do not accept rides from individuals soliciting inside the terminal. Always check that the taxi has a visible TLC license and working meter.

One fare pays for all passengers going to the same place.
