Securing a rental is easy at LGA
LaGuardia has many major rental car companies located nearby where you can find the right vehicle for your needs. Rental car companies provide frequent complimentary shuttles between the airport and the rental car center.
To pick up your rental, follow the signs to locate the shuttle pick-up areas near the front of your terminal. Rental car shuttle pick-up and drop-off areas:
- Terminal A: Follow the "Rental Car Shuttles" signs to find the designated spot outside the terminal
- Terminal B: Follow the "Rental Car Shuttles" signs to find the designated spot near the ground transportation level at zone 4.
- Terminal C: Follow the "Rental Car Shuttles" signs to find the designated spot near the transportation center

How to secure a rental
Picking up your rental car
You can reserve a rental car in advance online with one of our partner rental car companies or check availability once you arrive. To pick up your rental, locate the rental car company’s shuttle stop outside your terminal. This free service will take you to the rental car center to pick up your vehicle.
Returning your rental car
If you are returning your rental car, follow the signs for “Rental Car Return” to find your designated rental company’s parking lot. Remember to refuel your car before returning it. There are gas stations opens in a new tab conveniently located within two miles of the airport for your refueling needs.
Once you drop off your rental, take the complimentary shuttle back to your designated terminal to catch your flight.
Paying for tolls when using a rental car
New York State uses cashless tolling, so tolls are billed electronically. Check with your rental car company to understand their toll payment policy. Some companies provide E-ZPass® transponder tags. If they provide you a transponder, make sure you understand how it works, including any fees and charges. The rental company may also charge an administrative fee for using a toll road.
If your rental car company does not provide a transponder, or if you do not want to use a rental car company tag, you have two options:
- “Pay by plate” and the rental company will bill you later
- Pay the toll using your own E-ZPass transponder
If you decide to use your own transponder, do not add the rental car license plate to your account.
